The purpose of this survey:

To understand oncology clinic nurses’ current knowledge and practices regarding physical activity promotion in older adults with cancer, as well as to explore barriers to promoting physical activity during clinic appointments in this population. We would also like to understand your current level of physical activity for statistical purposes.

What do I have to do?

Participation is completely voluntary. If you would like to participate, simply follow the link below to the survey page and complete the survey (estimated time to complete the whole survey is around 5-6 minutes). Although completing the entire survey is encouraged, you do not have to answer all the questions on the survey if you do not wish to. By completing and submitting the questionnaire, YOUR FREE AND INFORMED CONSENT IS IMPLIED and indicates that you understand the above conditions of participation in this study.

What will happen to the information I provide?

This online survey will be conducted through RedCap. Click here to view RedCap’s privacy policy. The responses you provide will be kept completely anonymous by the researchers and will be analyzed along with responses from other survey respondents to produce a report for the research community in the field as well as knowledge users. The results collected from the survey will be reported in aggregate form.

Data collected from the online survey will be downloaded from the survey’s server (the third-party server) onto university’s Research Department’s secured server. After that, it will be permanently deleted from the survey’s server (the third-party server). The data will be stored in a password protected space on the server, specifically, OneDrive of the principle investigator. The data will be stored for 5 years post-publication as per University of Saskatchewan Guidelines. At the end of the 5-year period, the data will be deleted beyond recovery from the university’s secured server location

What if I changed my mind during the survey?

You can withdraw at any time during the survey by closing your web browser. However, once you have submitted your responses, withdrawal will not be possible since all submitted data are anonymous.

Has this study been approved by a research ethics board?

This research project has been approved on ethical grounds by the University of Saskatchewan Behavioural Research Ethics Board. Any questions regarding your rights as a participant may be addressed to that committee through the Research Ethics Office ethics.office@usask.ca (306) 966-2975. Out of town participants may call toll free (888) 966-2975.

Can I obtain results from the study?
